Tattooing is deeply artistic, personal, and meaningful - which makes it an ideal match for illustrating the Tarot, as evidenced by several tattoo-styled decks on the market. One of the most visible is Eight Coins’ Tattoo Tarot, created by artist and reader Lana Zellner.
Combining the Neo-Traditional tattoo art style with familiar Tarot symbolism, the deck provides a fresh, modern take on well-known archetypes. It’s particularly relevant as tattoo art has gained greater mainstream acceptance on the art landscape, and as getting inked becomes more commonplace.
This uniquely beautiful deck is just one of many we have in store at Indigo Moons - and we restocked our shelves this week. Come in to pick up your copy or choose another deck that’s perfect for you. And if you’re thinking about learning Tarot, mark your calendar for February 26, when I’ll teach my Tarot Essentials class here at the shop!

This Week’s Forecast
Many of us will celebrate Imbolc this week, and our message is entirely relevant. Imbolc is the celebration of rebirth and the coming spring - the ideal time to release old patterns, people, or habits that no longer belong in your life. Fortunately, it can be a quiet letting go instead of a sudden cutting out. Be gentle with yourself; you need energy for all the work that’s ahead.
The Hanged Man: You may presently feel like you’re in the space between - on your way to something new, but not quite here or there. That space might even feel like it’s between a rock and a hard place. This version of the Hanged Man reflects that ambiguity; she is tied up in knots, but is she truly trapped or just taking time to reassess?
If you’re having moments of confusion and doubt - we are still in the middle of Mercury retrograde, after all - it’s OK to surrender to being in the liminal. This is a time for informed, deliberate action as opposed to charging forward. Take a few moments to sit with the discomfort of not knowing, then reevaluate and get to work.
Three of Pentacles: Whatever’s ahead of you, remember that you don’t have to go it alone. The Three of Pentacles is all about collaboration; more specifically, it’s about people combining their unique strengths to create a better outcome for all. Shown here are three prairie dogs - creatures that work together in groups, each member assigned to a task where they will do the most good. It’s a reminder that even nature understands the value of teamwork.
Who do you have in your court? Chances are, they have some things to take care of too. Connect with those you trust and share your latest goals and challenges. Whatever you’re carrying around, it will be lighter if you ask for help - and reaching out to assist others creates better balance for everyone.
Seven of Pentacles: In recent months, we’ve hit so many hitches and roadblocks that it may feel like we’ll never get anywhere. The Seven of Pentacles is here to show us that growth and expansion are still taking place, no matter how slow the progress may feel. Despite the harsh terrain in the background, your work is already bearing fruit - here, it’s as if it’s literally growing right from your hand.
Everything that you’ve been through in the past has led to this point in your evolution. Take time to be proud of what you’ve accomplished, especially in consideration of any difficulties you’ve had to face. What lessons have you learned about getting through the hard times? The work isn’t over, but the seeds that you planted are growing…so you must have done something right! How can you make it happen again?
