![]() If we spend a lot of time talking about the heat in Texas - well, it’s because it occupies most of the year. And there’s presently a heat wave and drought going on, which tends to make summer a little more difficult to manage. July: what a beast. Not to worry - this month’s Tarot forecast brings good news that will make the months ahead easier to bear! Combined with the abundance of positive Sun energy, July may not be so bad after all. Our deck this month is a perfect fit - the Sun and Moon Tarot by Vanessa Decort. 1: The Hanged Man If you’ve been focused on doing personal and spiritual work, it’s likely that you’ve been able to release old hurts and blockages - or maybe you’ve found that you’re stagnating, having trouble moving forward. Either way, it’s time for a change in perspective. Talk to a loved one whose perspective you admire if you need help finding a new point of view. You might be surprised to find that you’ve made more progress than you realized, giving you the gift of letting go of the past. 2: The Lovers In a time where the world at large seems to be in constant turmoil, our interpersonal connections are key to surviving and thriving. But the unity that the Lovers card represents doesn’t depend on surrendering your point of view. If you feel challenged, stand your ground and reach out to others who share your perspective. Remember that the Lovers is about much more than romantic relationships, and that surrender doesn’t necessarily create harmony. You deserve equal consideration to everyone else. 3: Six of Wands If you need cheering on, there is no better card than the Six of Wands. Wherever your focus has been, anywhere you have joined hands with others to make the world a better place, this card is here to trumpet good news. There is triumph to be found; victory is yours. Anticipate an opportunity to stand tall and speak your mind; be prepared, then go forth and conquer it. Not only can you be proud of what you and those close to you have accomplished; your efforts, compassion, and focus will be recognized in a way you richly deserve.

It’s summertime, and the living is…hot and steamy! Time seems to slow down, the days grow longer, and the sun is the main event every day. Enter one of the very warmest pagan holidays: Litha.
Throughout history, the arrival of the sunny season reassured people of ancient cultures that the cycle of life would continue. Summer solstice, or Midsummer, grew out of the worship and veneration of the gods and goddesses of the sun, who were believed to benevolently give the power of life. Where Beltane marked the beginning of the fertile season, where partners reflected the rite of the Great Marriage between the Celtic Goddess and God, Midsummer sees the Goddess as heavy with child. Symbolically, these traditions mirror the sprouting and growth of abundant crops. Today, as in the past, the holiday focuses on the joy, abundance, and good health brought about by the Sun.
